Janis has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. She is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher. In 2009 she took her first Kundalini Yoga workshop and fell in love with this style of yoga.

She has also in the past 6 years been attending Insight meditation retreats at Insight Meditation Society as well as the Forest Refuge in Barre MA.  She is very committed to gradual awakening through training of the mind.  Her classes are a true experience of yoga by cultivating greater awareness of the unity of mind and body. Dropping into stillness for longer stretches of time becoming more aware of the subtle dimensions of sensation and movement that accompany the in breath and out breath.

“Being in my early 60s because of my yoga practice I feel increased well-being, vitality, and happiness. I want to share this incredible technology with others. Vitality and health is your birthright. Kundalini Yoga makes you radiant, peaceful and strong so you are better able to meet life’s challenges.”

Janis has also been studying astrology for over 30 years. She loves to share her knowledge by helping others interpret the symbolic language of the birth chart which can be seen as a map or blueprint of what we can become and what we potentially would look like if we were in full flower and fully conscious.

Janis received her Masters at Lesley College where she specialized in dreamwork and astrological counseling. It was there she discovered that it was possible to integrate both dreams and astrology into a work she calls Astrological Dreamwork. She attended Embodied dreamwork training sessions led by Jungian analyst Robert Bosnak for many years. She is certified as an Embodied Dream Imagery Practitioner. It is in these sessions that she has been able to learn and practice the craft of dreamwork, with an emphasis on group dreamwork.

Janis also is a master organic gardener and has been living off the grid in Vermont with solar panels for over 30 years. She has a strong philosophy in growing her own food and living a sustainable lifestyle. Her passion is back country skiing in the winter and biking in the summer. She is a fan of composting squatting toilets, greenhouses and root cellars. She has much knowledge to share about growing and storing food that can be eaten all winter so that you do not have to buy any produce for most of the year.

What People Are Saying

Mansukh Kaur teaches Kundalini Yoga with quiet wisdom. Her voice carries you through the breathing and the occasional "marathon" breath of fire exercises. It is as if she carries you through. You feel lighter. You feel less dense. You'll like her humor too, and the way she introduces and closes the sessions - relating the wisdom of the East to the contemporary American stresses from which her experienced teaching and queenly presence can free you.
